Hi Folks,

Google is not my friend ;-)

Does anyone have the map coordinates for the crash site outside Goose Bay for the B-36 bomber? All I can find is the "hills around Goose Bay" and that ain't much help!

Thanks

I have also wondered where the wreck could be. I have surfed the internet trying to find the location, and like you wrote, could only find “16 miles, on a hill”. I think I have found it on Google Earth at 53° 6'7.27"N, 60°40'31.61"W. I don’t know for sure if that is it, I was told that there are many plane wrecks around Goose Bay, and the Google Earth image isn’t the highest resolution. If you look at the shape and compare it several photos at http://www.ruudleeuw.com/search116.htm , they are similar shapes.
A few of my co-workers are in Goose Bay and have to fly in helicopters often, one of them said they will asked the pilots where it might be, if anybody would know it would be one of them. If I ever get confirmation I’ll let you know. (If anybody else that might read this and knows the location it would be nice if they could confirm if this is the wreck.)

Good Luck.

Has anyone been there on the ground in recent years or knows of anyone who has?
